Joost Wichman wint World Cup Andorra, Anneke Beerten 2e

Andorra, 16 mei 2009 - Joost Wichman heeft de finale van de fourcross World Cup te Andorra op zijn naam geschreven. De Nederlander wist in één van de laatste bochten binnen door te steken bij Rinderknecht en pakte zo zijn eerste World Cup overwinning. Rinderknecht ging vervolgens onderuit, waardoor Madill en Graves nog voor Rinderknecht eindigden. Bij de vrouwen een crash in de eerste bocht; Fion Griffiths en Anneke Beerten reden hierdoor naar respectievelijk de eerste en tweede plek. Horakova pakte de 3e plek, Kintner moest genoegen nemen met de 4e plek.

World Cup Downhill La Bresse

Massa's publiek en fantastische actie...de World Cup downhill in de Franse Vogezen was een groot succes.

Steve Peat kwam op gelijke hoogte met Nico "ET" Vouilloz door de overwinning te pakken...living legend.

Beerten wint eerste WC editie

The first World Cup of the season kicked off in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. For me it is my first time here and I really enjoyed it, South Africa is a beautiful place. First World Cup of the year is always exiting, new gear, new bikes and products and how fit and strong are the rest of the riders?

The 4-cross track was long; it looked a bit like a mini Downhill with some nice jumps, rock sections, flat corners and fast as hell. I started the first day of practice on my Intense hard-tail but on my last run I decided to try my full suspension bike. The full suspension bike felt more comfortable on a fast course like this, so I decided to race on the fully.

Anneke Beerten blijft bij Intense!

Anneke zal komend seizoen nog gewoon op Intense blijven rijden.

The last couple of weeks have been flat out with getting the 2009 season sorted. Like I mentioned earlier, it was necessary for me to make some changes, although it was hard to make these changes on such short notice.

I'm now happy and proud to announce that I will still be riding for INTENSE bicycles and VELTEC, the BeNeLux distributer for Intense. The collaboration with these two companies makes it possible for me to stay on Intense bikes, be a professional athlete, and of course keep doing what I love most; shredding down the worlds most beautiful mountainsides.

Anneke weg bij Intense

Onverwacht nieuws, zo vlak voor de seisoensstart van 2009. Anneke Beerten zal niet voor Intense rijden dit seizoen, zo meldt zij op haar website. Wie haar grote bikesponsor zal worden is nog niet bekend, maar wij zijn overtuigd dat dit wel goed komt.

Eindelijk is het dan echt officieel bekend gemaakt. Sam Hill en Brendan Fairclough gaan voor Specialized rijden. Zullen zij op hun demo 8 de tracks killen? We zullen het zien.

Van Heugten stopt met management Dolphin-Trek team

Nuenen, 19 november 2008 - Manager Ralf van Heugten van het Dolphin-Trek team zal per december gaan stoppen met het management van zijn team. Over de toekomst van het team laat Van Heugten nog even niets los totdat er meer bekend zal zijn. Ralf van Heugten heeft in totaal 5 jaren gebouwd aan een team dat in 2008 een absoluut hoogtepunt bereikte met o.a. kwalificatie voor Olympische Spelen, nationale en Europese titels. In het huidige team rijden o.a. Bart Brentjens, Rudi van Houts, Chris Jongewaard, Nico Vink en Alban Lakata.

Team nieuws 2009

...en weer wat rijders onder contract:
Trek heeft Andrew Neethling en Justin Leov onder contract gezet om op hun Session 88 successen te behalen. Marc Beaumont en Kevin Aiello hebben bij GT getekend. En...Mick Hannah gaat toch weer op de DH bike klimmen; hij zal voor Mongoose komen te rijden.
